EROSIA, 2015
Historical satellite images of mining landscapes from around the world are layered and blended to capture the changing conditions of those sites over time into a single, still frame. With these composite images, material mined from each respective site was etched and formed into a relief panel. These panels allow viewers to inhabit a new territory, somewhere between landscape and object, collapsing and compressing time and space into a material artifact.
